Course History
Azalea City Golf Course was designed by Robert Bruce Harris and opened to the public in the heart of Mobile’s Langan Park. It quickly became known for its traditional parkland layout and municipal charm.
The course made PGA history by hosting the inaugural Mobile Sertoma Open Invitational. This marked Azalea City’s arrival on the national golf stage.
Golf legend Arnold Palmer claimed victory at Azalea during the second Mobile Sertoma Open, solidifying the course’s place in professional golf history.
A major renovation replaced all greens with Champion bermuda grass and enhanced playability while preserving the classic layout.
Owned and operated by the City of Mobile, Azalea City Golf Course remains a
beloved destination — blending history, community, and championship-level play
for golfers of all skill levels.
